If you believe that better conversations lead to better outcomes and you are ready to make that real in practice, you will feel at home here.
This Immersion is for people who:
✅ Work in schools, community initiatives, organizations, networks, or collectives engaging with complex human and social challenges.
✅ Want to turn meetings and gatherings into spaces for genuine connection, participation, and forward movement.
✅ Sense that traditional ways of leading conversations and making decisions do not always serve the realities they face.
✅ Are looking for simple, practical ways to engage diverse groups with clarity and intention.
✅ Are new to Liberating Structures and want to learn through direct experience.
✅ Already use Liberating Structures and want to deepen their confidence and practice.
✅ Are seeking more inclusive ways to engage with important, and sometimes difficult, conversations.
✅ Are not interested in simply collecting another method, but in building a practical foundation they can use in uncertain and complex situations.
Liberating Structures? Immersion?...
Liberating Structures are simple, practical ways to structure conversations and group work so participation is more widely shared, more voices are included, listening is valued, and collective intelligence can emerge.
They can meaningfully transform workplace meetings, classrooms, boards, trainings, assemblies, dialogue circles, collectives, and community projects.
The Immersion is an invitation to experience a different way of meeting, learning, conversing, and making decisions.
Over seven weeks, you will take part in a range of Liberating Structures and explore how they can be adapted to different contexts and formats.
You will not simply learn about the methods. You will experience them, reflect on them, and practise using them with others.
What makes this the Extended Edition?
The Extended Edition alternates between four Facilitated Sessions and three Practice Sessions:
Facilitated Sessions
These 3.5-hour sessions are led by Carolina and Fernando. You will experience Liberating Structures, explore the principles and design-elements behind them, and consider how to apply them in your own work.
Practice Sessions
These two-hour sessions take place between the Facilitated Sessions, offering a lightly structured and supportive space to practise, experiment and learn.
Alumni and other seasoned LS Practitioners will co-host these sessions alongside participants.
The aim is not to perform perfectly. It is to try things out, notice what happens, ask questions, and build confidence through practice.
Why the extended format?
Facilitation is learned through experience. Alternating between learning and practice gives you time to:
- Try the methods while the learning is still fresh
- Reflect on what worked and what felt challenging
- Learn from other participants
- Return with real questions
- Build confidence gradually
- Explore how the methods fit your own context
The Extended Edition is designed to help you move beyond understanding Liberating Structures and begin using them with greater confidence, care, and intention.
