Jan 2 • About the distance, roadmap and plans…
If there’s one solid thing about this journey, it’s the sheer scale of it. So we want to share the spirit with which we’re looking at it.
We’ll begin a 20,000-kilometre road trip from Canada to Brazil in a motorhome. On the map, sure we’ve drawn a zigzag line, dropped a few pins on places (and friends!) we’d love to visit. Our route starts in Nelson, BC, winds through the US and Mexico, crosses Central America, includes a floating-and-flying leg across the Darién Gap, and then takes us slowly down through South America, all the way to Florianópolis, Brazil.

But in reality? We know this trip will unfold in ways we can’t fully predict. If there’s something we’ve learned from past journeys (and dear friends), it’s this: the plan is just a starting point. The real path is shaped at every stop, through surprises, conversations, pauses, and the choices we make along the way.
There’s no fixed itinerary, and no rush. We want to travel at a healthy pace, moving with a rhythm of activity and rest, work and play, presence and pause. Some stretches will be quick, others slow. Some planned, others decided the night before.
We’re sharing this because Crossings isn’t just about where we’re going — it’s about how we’re getting there. It’s about how we change and adapt along the route, reflecting, adjusting, and making small choices that shape the bigger story.

“What’s the most important thing?” asked the boy.
“The journey or the destination?”
“The company,” said the horse.Charlie Mackesy
We’re stepping into this with an open map, a clear intention, and a lot of curiosity for what the road will reveal. And it feels good to know you’re with us.❤️
